Driving awareness, inspiring action: Our partnership with Arctic Arts

We’re nine months into our three-year partnership with The Arctic Arts Project and the collaboration has already had a real impact across the business. What began as raising awareness of climate change, has grown into a rallying point for individual action, collective responsibility and a deeper understanding of what’s at stake.

Inspiring change

Our Colties have embraced the partnership with energy and intent. In response, we launched an internal sustainability pledge campaign, encouraging our people to commit to personal actions to support the planet better. From reducing waste and choosing greener travel to sharing knowledge within their communities, our teams across the globe have made hundreds of pledges, proving that small steps, taken together, can lead to big changes.

Year of Glaciers’ Preservation

The UN has declared 2025 the Year of Glaciers’ Preservation, recognising glaciers as vital indicators of global climate health. Their rapid decline is one of the most visible and worrying signs of a warming planet.

Mountain glaciers (frozen rivers of ice) are a freshwater resource for millions of people worldwide and can raise global sea-levels by 32cm (13in) if they melt entirely. Since 2000, they have lost more than 6,500 billion tonnes (5%) of their ice!

Arctic Arts recognise that nowhere on the planet is more endangered than the Arctic and this is why it’s the main focus of their energy. Svalbard, the tiny polar group of islands north of Norway, is warming seven times faster than the rest of the earth.

The striking imagery captured by Arctic Arts not only spreads awareness but drives action by sparking emotion.

ESG progress: Purpose in practice

Our work with Arctic Arts is just one part of our sustainability journey. The progress shown in our latest Sustainability Report for 2024 shows that we’re turning purpose into practice. Some key highlights include:

  • Renewable energy use across our global operations has increased from 78% to 94% (from 2023 to 2024)
  • We’ve cut total CO2e emissions by more than 42% (up from 34% in 2023)
  • There’s been a 20% increase in employee volunteering days since 2023
  • 44.7% of our new hires in 2024 were women, outperforming the industry average by 17.4%

Using our platform to drive industry-wide action

We know we can’t tackle climate change alone. That’s why we’re using our voice and this partnership to inspire action beyond our own business.

Because when it comes to protecting our planet, collaboration is not optional. Especially within the IT sector, which is said to be the 7th most polluting industry. The latest stats state that the IT sector currently uses 20% of all electricity produced and emits up to 5.5% of the world’s CO2e.

Looking ahead

This is just the beginning. As our partnership with Arctic Arts continues, we’ll be rolling out new campaigns, creating educational resources for our people, and finding new ways to drive engagement and impact.

At its core, this partnership is about connection: connecting people to the realities of the climate crisis through powerful visual storytelling, and connecting sustainability to everyday decisions, whether at home or at work.
